How To

Repairing a damaged motor on a drone

First, identify the broken part of the motor to repair it. The best way to do so is to take the propeller off the motor shaft. Then remove any wires and take a look at the motor's inner workings. If there is something wrong with the motor, you will know which part you need to repair.

If the motor is in good condition, you shouldn't worry. But if it looks like one of the images below, you will need to replace parts before you can fly again.

Suppose a motor has been bent up so it won't turn anymore. You will need to bend it back into shape. To hold the motor in place, you can use a pair or vice grips. Once you've done this, make sure to check the motor thoroughly for signs of wear.

Once you're satisfied that everything's ok, put the propeller back onto the motor shaft and reattach the wires. Your drone is now ready to fly!
