What is a "Battery Pack" and how can it be replaced?

A battery pack is what powers the motors of your drone. These packs provide enough power to keep your quadcopter in flight safely and smoothly.

The difference in the battery pack between a drone you already own and a new one that you purchase will not be noticeable. But, over time, your battery pack will slowly become worn down. The battery pack may eventually stop working. You'll need to replace your battery pack to ensure that your drone continues to work properly.

It is recommended to use the original replacement part when replacing a battery. If you install a faulty pack, your drone could be damaged.

Follow these steps to replace a battery.

  1. Disconnecting the battery connector cable is a good idea. This step ensures that your drone doesn't receive any electrical current. Simply pull the connector cable off the drone to disconnect it.
  2. Remove the battery pack. Unscrew the battery pack from the bottom of your quadcopter. The battery pack usually comes apart into two pieces.
  3. Locate and replace the battery contacts. After you have taken the battery pack out, look for the contact points. These pins attach the battery to the other parts of the drone.
  4. Install the battery. Next, attach the new battery to the drone. Next, align the battery connectors at the two ends of the battery pack. Push the battery pack onto your drone. Once done, tighten the bolts holding the battery pack in place.
  5. Reattach the connector cable to the battery. Connect the drone's battery connector cable once you have installed the new pack.
  6. It is important to test the drone. Before flying your drone again, check whether it still operates correctly. If it does, then congratulations!
